Glorie's BLOG has moved to a new site. =)

Hey everyone,

I've moved to a new blogsite. The address is:

www.xanga.com/seasons_of_change

The new blog is probably a little different than this one in the following ways:

  1. The focus is not so much on events happening in my life - but rather what we've learnt from it
  2. Its not all about me...its also about other ppl and their thoughts.
  3. It has a brighter color

So do visit it, and bookmark it!

Cheers.

Glorie.

I miss Netherfield Park

If u're thinking what Netherfield Park is...well, read Pride and Prejudice.

Anyhow, got home yest nite at around 9.30pm, came back, ate some really instant dinner (microwaved food) and then had to clear all my luggage, clean my room a bit, shower, unpack my school bags...n by the time i was done, it was like 1.30am..

worst part i had class at 9am today. but overall it was ok la.

also, i sat down today at around 4pm.... SAT DOWN, concentrated.... and finished my 1000 word essay - finance asgt at 10.30pm (with a dinner break in btwn of course)... but glad thats over and done with.

tmr is another stressful day... but oh well, once this week is done, next week is all about focusing on finals...

back in 50 days =)

Pierre vs. Glorie: A comparison of toys

Decided to stay home today to do work. And rite now its already 10 minutes past noon, and I haven't gotten any work done (will start soon!). I was caught up with observing Pierre's behavior which never ceases to amaze me. I have to say that Pierre really understands what we're saying most of the time. Another thing is that, a dog's life is really so so simple.. well, read on to know wut i mean.

Everytime pierre sees me, he always think its playtime. So he'll find his squeaky toy... (its really squeaky and irritating), run to me, and drop his toy. the only game pierre plays with me is "fetch", which of course is the simple act of throwing the toy, and letting him fetch it to me, and the process goes on and on and on and on...

Well, thats pierre. As i enjoy "snapping" every moment of life when it comes along, i got hold of my camera, and took a couple of pictures of pierre. Pierre seems to be attracted to squeaky toys... as shown below, all his toys (except the orange football) squeaks.

I think the green crab and pink whale are awfully cute. I found out from zeny that they are actually my baby cousin's squeaky toys...but pierre wanted them so badly, my aunt gave them to him. =___=

Right anyhow, after letting pierre pose with his toys, i began wondering, what are my toys?? I mean yea, when i was younger, it was all about polly pockets, lego, soft-toys, toys from toys-r-us... and what not.  (but not barbie dolls, i was actually quite scared of them) But then, as u grow up, u still have "toys": stuff that defines who u are, and stuff that u probably use quite often.... So i took a good look around my room, and collected the following, as seen in the picture....

glorie's toys small Well, this is just a representation of "toys" and what I enjoy... and obviously there are many other toys, such as the computer or piano..but if i were to put all the "toys'' in.. it won't fit in this picture. (i won't consider make up as a toy... but since u won't even be able to tell the gender of this owner's toys without the make-up, i thought it'd be good to add some "girlish" stuff...)

Pls don't take it as i'm some kind of spoilt brat or something...COZ I"M NOT!

The point i was getting accross is that...as we grow older, the toys we WANT and HAVE become more n more expensive....so everytime we crave for more, start thinking of a dog's life: he has very very simple toys - toys that just squeak! And yet, they never get sick of it!!! They see n play with it everyday...but u never see pierre getting angry with his toys...So, appreciate everything we have....

Secondly, sometimes we always feel a dog's life is so unstressful. I mean its quite true! Pierre just sits home, eats, plays, sleeps....n entertain us! I mean it sounds like a good life..BUT I was just thnking, if for one day, i swapped toys with pierre, and i got his squeaky toys...GEEZ... life would be so boring, so I'd never swap my life for a dog's life.

11th - 13th August : Falls Creek Ski Trip

Yea, this was my first time skiing. I signed up for this trip...didn't know anyone else who wanted to go...so basically i had to just make new friends. =) But it was awesome. Lots of drinking during the trip. It was basically drink at nite, ski in d day. I didn't do too well skiinng. Ok, not to say i'm chicken-hearted, but this is the case:: In Skiing, u do not have any protective gear, this means if u fall, roll over a cliff, u die! ya... so i was freaking scared. I mean, like in rock climbing, u have the harness and strong good ropes, same goes for abseiling. But in Skiing, u don't! u just keep falling and rolling! Anyhow, good fun.

We stayed at a ski lodge called "halley's Lodge" First time staying in a lodge. Very cozy n roomy. got a nice fireplace. =)

19th August :: OCF's LTC starts

Decided to go for the Leadership Training Course (LTC) by OCF. I feel God is calling me to serve in OCF, and after all, its good to be able to serve God. I think OCF is a good ground to do so. Well, this course will run for 5 weeks starting 19th August, every Saturday at 9.30am!! My role is the Worship IC (in charge). It's pretty simple...just to organize worship every week for LTC. Ya, just glad to be given the opportunity to lead in a small way. :)
